TRAUMATIC CRIME SCENE INVOLVEMENT

Steps to Take

If you have been involved in a traumatic crime scene, call Spaulding Decon for crime scene clean up assistance.  The following is a short guide that explains how we respond to a request for a bid.  You can expect:

  • Prompt telephone response 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • We consult the nature of your call and whether it is an emergency clean up.
  • A crew is sent to the scene to investigate and offer a bid.  (Cleaning companies who will bid over the phone are often not credible.  It takes close inspection of a scene to estimate manpower and equipment needs).
  • Once the bid is accepted, we organize our materials and make sure we have all necessary protective equipment.
  • “Before, During & After” pictures are taken of the area throughout the trauma scene clean up.
  • Biohazards and other hazardous materials are safely disposed, odors are eliminated with environmentally-safe chemicals and the scene is deemed “back to normal.”
  • A certificate of cleanliness treatment is issued to the property owner or next of kin.
  • We guarantee satisfaction of our work.

Do not, under any circumstances, try to clean the crime scene yourself.  It takes many hours of training for our specialists to be qualified to handle biohazardous materials that may contain bloodborne pathogens.  Don’t take the risk of exposing yourself.  Resist helpful neighbors’ offers for help.  Communicable diseases are invisible to the naked eye, and it’s always possible that someone unprepared for the situation could suffer an accident while cleaning.
